Pin the pieces of the new cover together with the right side of the fabric inward that is, the sides of the fabric you want to show. Sew the new cover so that it is from the inside out. Turn the right side cover out and pull it over the stool counter seat to test the fit. Remove the cap again, once you are sure it fits correctly. Replace the batting pad on the stool counter seat if it is worn. Pull the staples that hold the batting cage in place.
